Meet Mary Titus

One member of our very creative and eclectic group!

A member of the Minnesota Button Society and National Button Society, Mary Titus is a passionate collector of all things old, odd, and delightful, especially antique and vintage sewing buttons and needlework related stuff.  About five years ago Mary and her daughter Laura started the small business ButtonsUp!.  Both Laura and Ellen (Mary’s other daughter) lend a hand selling at Minnesota flea markets during the summer months.  When not sorting buttons, Mary can be found teaching English and American Studies at St. Olaf College.  Her scholarship focuses on American material culture, especially collecting practices from high brow museum acquisition to low brow hoarding.
